Review Methodology
Review Methodology
How we research tools
Every tool in our directory is researched from primary sources before publication:
- Vendor documentation — we read the product docs, not just the landing page.
- Pricing pages — we record the actual published pricing model and starting price, or note "quote only" when the vendor doesn't publish.
- Integration directories — we verify claimed integrations against the vendor's own integration listings.
- Independent sources — we consult G2, community discussions, and public reviews to understand limitations and customer experiences.
What we publish
We distinguish between:
- Directory listings — verified basic metadata (name, category, pricing model, integrations, website).
- Standard reviews — a structured review covering features, pricing, strengths, limitations, and verdict.
- Comprehensive reviews — a deep editorial review with verified sources, pricing tables, and detailed analysis.
We do not label every imported tool as "reviewed." A large inventory of verified basic listings is acceptable; we don't automatically create thin review pages from incomplete records.
What we don't do
- We don't publish fabricated numerical ratings.
- We don't claim hands-on testing we haven't performed.
- We don't invent user reviews or testimonials.
- We don't reproduce vendor marketing copy as editorial content.
- We don't publish affiliate discounts or bonuses we haven't verified.
Verification dates
Every tool record includes a last-verified date. We flag records that haven't been verified in 90 days for refresh.
Affiliate relationships
Some links to vendor websites are affiliate links. We may earn a commission when you sign up through these links, at no cost to you. This never influences our editorial content. See our Affiliate Disclosure for full details.
